Art Show

The RadCon Art Show is one of the convention’s crown jewels. Every year, artists from across the United States and Canada bring their finest work to Pasco; original paintings, sculptures, prints, mixed media, and items unique to convention life. The Art Show is free to browse with your RadCon membership badge and open throughout the weekend.

Hours & Location

The Art Show is held in the Olympic Ballroom of the Pasco Red Lion Hotel and Convention Center during the RadCon Convention each year. Doors open on Friday, February 12th at 6:00 PM. Full hours for the weekend will be posted as they are finalized the closer we get to the convention.

Art Show Rules

  • Touching artwork on display is prohibited. Art is meant to be seen with your eyes, not your hands.
  • Outside food, drink, and large bags are not permitted in the Art Show. A volunteer at the entrance will direct you to available storage options before you enter. Attendees are responsible for collecting their own items.
  • Pieces marked NFS (Not For Sale) are not available for purchase at any price. Other pieces may have an After-Auction price in addition to silent auction bidding space.

Purchasing Art

Many pieces in the Art Show are available for outright purchase. These may be kept on display for the weekend and picked up at the start of the live auction on Sunday.
Select artists also offer prints available for direct purchase throughout the convention – no bidding required.

Silent Art Auction Purchases and Rules

Silent Auctions can be confusing to the first timer. We will try to make things clear. Items available for bidding on will have a bid card posted beneath them. A minimum bid amount may be listed on the card. If the minimum bid amount is not met, that piece is automatically entered into the live auction at the end of the convention on Sunday.

  • The Silent Auction runs from the start of the convention through 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
  • Up to three (3) bids may be made on any one (1) piece. The highest of these three (3) bids is the winner of the item.
  • You may add or remove bids until close of bidding on Sunday. Bids may not be removed or added after this time.
  • If you win an item in the Silent Auction, you may pay for and pick up this item at the start of the Live Auction on Sunday.

Live Art Auction

The Live Auction is the grand finale of the RadCon Art Show, and it does not disappoint. Held on Sunday at 1:00 PM, this is where the bidding wars get real. Pieces that received four or more bids in the Silent Auction take center stage, joined by any pieces that didn’t meet their minimum bid requirement.

Come ready to compete. Speak clearly and loudly for the auctioneer, hesitation has cost more than one bidder their prize piece.

Once the gavel falls for the last time, any unsold art may be purchased at the After-Auction price listed on the tag. And whatever you’ve won pick it up by 6:00 PM on Sunday. RadCon is not responsible for pieces left after this time.
