The Big Con with the Small Con Feel
RadCon is a Science Fiction and Fantasy convention held every President’s Day weekend in Pasco, Washington — and for over thirty years, we’ve been the home base for nerds, geeks, and enthusiasts of every shape, size, and flavor. Over 1,500 attendees, 100+ professional guests, and a volunteer crew that refuses to quit.
Our Mission
The RadCon Guild exists to promote Art, Literature, Science, Gaming, and Imagination; with a particular love for the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. Our main focus is hosting RadCon each year, but our mission runs deeper than one weekend in February.
We believe in education, creativity, and community. We believe that stories matter, that imagination is worth protecting, and that everyone deserves a place where their particular flavor of weird is not just accepted but celebrated.
We support individuals, fan-based groups, and charities who share these goals. Because a rising tide lifts all nerds.
Community Involvement
RadCon doesn’t just show up in February and disappear. We live in the community we try to support — especially our schools.
In our Schools
Student Writing Contest
Every year, RadCon hosts a Student Writing Contest open to local high school students, because the next great Science Fiction author might be sitting in a Tri-Cities classroom right now. Submitted work is thoughtfully reviewed weeks in advance of the convention by internationally recognized authors. Winners receive prizes and individual mentorship; real guidance from people who have actually made it in the industry and want to help the next generation do the same.
Student Art Contest
RadCon also hosts an annual Student Art Competition open to local students — because the next great illustrator, artist, digital graphics wizard, or creative visionary might be sitting in that same classroom. Submitted work is displayed in the RadCon Art Show and reviewed by professional artists attending the convention. Winners receive prizes and the kind of feedback that only comes from people who have built careers doing exactly what these students are dreaming of.
Bringing the Con to the Classroom
Each year, our Guests of Honor don’t just show up for the convention — they show up for our kids. These internationally recognized professionals in Film, Writing, Art, and Science visit local Tri-Cities classrooms to speak about their areas of expertise, brought in by RadCon and delivered directly to students who might never otherwise get that kind of access. At no cost to the schools. Ever.

In our Community
- The Tri-Cities Independent Film Festival (TCIF3) began right here at RadCon — a small idea that has grown into an internationally recognized festival. From the start RadCon has been a proud supporter of TriFi with annual donations, because some things are worth investing in from the very beginning.
- Each year, RadCon donates to selected charities chosen by our membership — because giving back doesn’t stop at the convention floor.
- RadCon began participating in the Benton Franklin Fair Parade in 2024 — foam dice, candy, and all. We’ve showed up every year since, and don’t intend to stop anytime soon.
What You’ll Find at RadCon
Whether it’s your first or your thirtieth, RadCon always has something new — and someone who gets what you’re into. It’s not just a convention. It’s three days of rubbing elbows with your people. Where you start the day standing in line next to a stranger and end it at the fire show with that same person, who is now a friend for life. The conversation that started in a panel room can easily end at 2am in After Dark, and you can try on any persona you like.
RadCon has developed over the years into a one-of-a-kind wonderland that cannot be duplicated. It takes all kinds. The lifelong fan and the first-timer. The cosplayer and the artist. The gamer and the geek. The fanatic and the friend. But there is one thing that may be missing: you. We don’t have one of you. Yet.
Here’s a taste of what you can look forward to:
- Over 100 professional and recognized guests in Film, Writing, Art, and Science
- Hundreds of panels, discussion groups, and demonstrations covering every corner of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and beyond
- A large Art Show featuring artists from across the US and Canada
- Dealers, merchants, and vendors with something for every taste and budget
- Role Playing Games, Board Games, Card Games, and Tournaments
- Anime and Sci-Fi video rooms
- The Tri-Cities Independent Film Festival (TCIF3)
- KidCon — a safe, supervised space just for our youngest members
- The Masquerade Costume Contest — one of RadCon’s most beloved traditions
- And honestly? A whole lot of things you can’t fully understand and we can’t fully explain until you’re there.
So. How are you gonna RadCon?
