Jim Fiscus is a Portland, Oregon writer and photographer. He is a former columnist for the SFWA BULLETIN, the journal of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, writing about legal and business issues. He was a medical writer for a number of years and has written about history, publishing a number of books for high school students. He is chairman of The Endeavour Award and the Clayton Memorial Medical Fund.
His first fiction sale was a story using SF to explain the theological basis of the present regime in Iran. That story let him make practical use of his master`s degree in Middle East and Asian History and his experience teaching military history.
He is Western Regional Director for SFWA, so if you`re a member in the Western Region, he`s your representative on the Board.
