Guy Letourneau has been attending conventions since 1978. He is a mechanical engineer, a published author of PE Exam problems (and has even been The Official Exam Guy who announces "Please Stop Working. Time Has been Called. Lay your pencils down...") He has designed devices from tiny medical electronic connectors, automotive parts, hydropower plant reduction gearing, a 2-person hovercraft, and mongo dredge cutterheads over 35,000lbm. He owns three patents on Tesla bladeless turbines, built his own coal-fired melting furnace, and produces aluminum and bronze castings at home. His interests include history of machine technology, mechanical calculation (abacus, slide rules, etc.) and how societies re-build after socio-economic collapse, and man-tracking. He is also an anime fan, AMV editor and AMV contest coordinator, a firearms geek, a
late-19th/early-20th century naval history buff, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
