Student Short Story Contest

All student writers will receive a weekend membership to RadCon!

Previous year’s prizes have included: handmade quill & ink sets and signed books from popular visiting writers.
◊ You must be a student from the Tri-Cities area in grades 6 through 12.
◊ Short stories must be 1000 to 5000 words long
◊ Story themes should keep to the genres of: science fiction, fantasy, cyber punk, urban fantasy, or steam punk. Please, no fan fiction!
◊ Story must meet the submission format guidelines below
◊ Double spaced, 12 point Font (Courier, Ariel, or New Times Roman), 1 inch margins, aligned to left margin
◊ In the upper left corner, type your name, and address. Include a way to contact you like your E-mail address or a teacher’s email address (be sure to include your teacher’s name)
◊ In the upper right corner, include the approximate word count of the story
◊ Centered the title two lines down from your contact information
◊ Include your name, centered below the title
◊ Please indent new paragraphs
◊ Include a footer on all pages with your last name, story title, and page number.
Contest Deadline is January 15th, 2018. Winners will be contacted by February 6th through email or by phone. Announcements are also posted on RadCon’s Facebook page and website. Submissions should be made in “word” or “pdf” format to: ViceChair
Prizes will be awarded February 16th at the RadCon Opening Ceremonies, 7pm at the Pasco Red Lion.
